Learn about our newly awarded STEAM / Makerspace Program
WGEF provides funds for innovative and creative teaching initiatives and learning experiences in West Geauga schools. Anyone can apply for funding, including teachers, administrators, students and parents.
Applications for funding are accepted in early October and February of each school year for review at that month’s meeting. Applicants will be asked attend the WGEF meeting to present their proposal and answer questions.
Innovative and creative mean different things to different people. The board looks for ideas that are new to the district. It favors those with the potential to become part of the regular school curriculum or which could become self funding in the future. Programs may impact a large number of students or significant benefit for a small number. It can be for technology, teaching tool, programs or events.
